A guide to care questions

What is it?

Does it help?

Can I get it?

How do visits work?

What will I pay?

What could go wrong?

Reading the care rules

What about Semax, Selank and dihexa?

If an offer names any of these, ask about that exact substance. Similar-sounding names are not a useful shortcut.

Care facts as of September 2026.

Keep in mind

A request taken back or news of a meeting does not settle whether a pharmacy may use the ingredient.

Where do those names appear?

In an ingredient name, acetate marks a particular version of that substance. Copy the full name for the pharmacist to check.

FDA, the U.S. drug agency, lists semax, selank acetate and dihexa acetate among requests to allow ingredients for medicines made to order. Those requests were later taken back.

FDA marked that page current as of April 22, 2026. The entries were still there at a September 2026 check. These dates do not mean the medicines were approved.

Does taking a request back mean the ingredient may be used?

Withdrawing a request gives no permission to compound with that ingredient, as of September 2026.

FDA still displays its concerns about possible harm beside these ingredients.

Did the Semax meeting change that?

Semax was on the agenda for the FDA advice meeting held in July 2026.

The FDA staff proposal was to exclude Semax from the official list allowing additional ingredients in compounded medicine.

An official account of that panel’s vote was absent from FDA’s posted material at the September 2026 check.

Advice from the panel does not, on its own, let a pharmacy use an ingredient in medicine made to order.

What does this tell me about memory?

The request asks whether an ingredient may be used to make medicine to order. It does not show whether the medicine helps memory or focus.

Ask for a study in people that tests the claim made in the offer.

What can I take away?

A request taken back or news of a meeting does not settle whether a pharmacy may use the ingredient.

What can I read next?

FDA: the withdrawn-request table

FDA keeps its concerns about potential harm beside the withdrawn ingredient requests.

FDA: the Semax briefing paper

Shows the staff position before the meeting; it is not the panel vote record.

FDA: meeting materials

As of September 2026, FDA had posted no official vote record on the meeting page.
